Prayer Ministry of the Church in Torrance (1/13/2026)

Upon your walls, O Jerusalem, / I have appointed watchmen; / All day and all night / They will never keep silent. / You who remind Jehovah, / Do not be dumb;
And do not give Him quiet / Until He establishes / And until He makes Jerusalem / A praise in the earth. (Isa. 62:6-7)
Thus says Jehovah, / The Holy One of Israel and the One who formed him, / Ask Me about the things to come concerning My sons, / And concerning the work of My hands, command Me. (Isa. 45:11)
Thus says the Lord Jehovah, Moreover for this I will be inquired of by the house of Israel to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. (Ezek. 36:37)

** We suggest that we all read one Life-study message at the prayer meeting every Tuesday night before we begin to pray for the following prayer items. Tonight, let’s read Message #75 of Life-study of Genesis.

Please pray:

1. For a new beginning of a new spiritual year through meeting God as light:
Brothers, I do not account of myself to have laid hold; but one thing I do: Forgetting the things which are behind and stretching forward to the things which are before (Phil. 3:13)
So then if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, they have become new. (2 Cor. 5:17)
And He who sits on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And He said, Write, for these words are faithful and true. (Rev. 21:5)

In order to have a new spiritual year, we need to specifically seek God’s face and meet Him. We should bring our condition, past and present, to Him and place it before Him in the light of His face in order to receive His shining. He is facing us, waiting for us, and open to us. We should not think that we are the ones who are seeking God; actually, He is seeking us and waiting for us. Rather than being closed, we should open ourselves to Him.

On the first day of a new year we should realize that the previous year is behind us and that a new year, a new beginning, is before us. The former things have passed away, and all things should be new. In the light of the Lord, our former weaknesses, failures, and mistakes will come to an end, and we need not bring them with us. With a new year we can have a new beginning, a good beginning, starting in resurrection. The meaning of the changing of days, months, and years is related to encountering God as light and to experiencing death and resurrection. We need to meet God, andwe need an ending and a new beginning. We should not remain in our old experiences, whether good or bad, because both the good and the bad have been terminated so that we can begin anew.

God’s work in the universe is a work of renewing. He wants to end the old things and begin something new. When His work is accomplished, He will be able to declare that all things are truly new (2 Cor. 5:17). The proper celebration of a new year is to have a new beginning. We need to go before God and touch His presence. When we touch God and meet God, we will enter into a new year and have a new beginning. [CWWL, 1957, Vol. 1, God’s Need and God’s Goal]

2. For the habit of regular Bible reading to become what we read:

BECOMING WHAT WE READ
After attending a conference or a training, when we return to our locality, we may resolve to never be the same. However, after two months we may be worse than before. This kind of resolution does not work. In Romans 7 Paul wrote, “What I will, this I do not practice; but what I hate, this I do…To will is present with me, but to work out the good is not” (vv. 15, 18). We should never make up our mind to be different from what we are now. This kind of resolving is religious, and it does not work. We may wonder what does work. In Revelation 22:10, at the end of the whole Bible, the apostle John wrote, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this scroll, for the time is near.” After everything of the divine revelation had been completed, the Lord charged us not to close the book of Revelation but to keep it open. To close the book is simply to put it aside, whereas to keep it open is to read all the crucial verses day after day. We should not make up our mind to have any kind of change but should read the Lord’s Word each day. We do not need to explain or expound the Word; we only need to read it in a prayerful way. After reading a portion of the Word a number of times, we will never be the same. We become different from what we are, not by making up our mind but by keeping the revealed Word open all the time.
Dietitians say that we are what we eat. If we make up our mind to be a certain kind of person, yet we do not eat, eventually, we will not be that kind of person. There is no need for us to make up our mind to be a certain kind of person. Actually, we will be what we eat. We need to keep the revealed Word open to us by reading it again and again without making up our mind….The more we simply read the divine Word day after day, in the morning, at noon, and in the evening, the more we will receive the Spirit of life, and the more we will be like what is written in the Word. [CWWL, 1977, vol. 1, pp. 6-7]

3. For the 2026 SoCal Spanish-speaking Conference:
The Southern California Spanish-speaking Conference will be held this weekend, January 16 to 18, at the Ministry Conference Center in Anaheim. Please see more details at  https://conferencia.socalspanish.org.

Please pray for the Lord to bless all the practical services and release the saints to attend with open hearts to hear what the Spirit is speaking to the churches.

4. For the Gospel trips related to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy (4 December 2025—23 February 2026):
The 2026 Winter Olympic Games will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy. Gospel trips during the time of the Torch Relay and the Olympic Games will be conducted from 4 December 2025 through 23 February 2026.
The current Torch Relay (TR) and Olympic Games (OL) gospel trips are in progress. A report on Gospel trip TR-3 in Bologna and Turin is attached at the bottom of this email. Please see the prayer burdens in this report.

Please pray:
*That the Lord will be wisdom to His Body on how to take advantage of this opportunity to sow Christ as the seed of the kingdom into many who attend this event.
*That the Lord will prepare the hearts of many seeking people to receive Christ in His word and be added to the Lord’s testimony in Italy and other parts of Europe.
*That the Lord will blend the saints together for the spreading of the lampstands in Italy and will advance His move in His recovery.

5. For the Gospel preaching and Truth spreading in the Torrance area:
[John 15:5, 16] I am the vine; you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and I set you that you should go forth and bear fruit and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give you.

[Aggressive Desperation]
For years many of us have been drugged persons. A person who is drugged is numb. He does not have any feeling. Some of us did not bear any fruit for twenty years yet still felt that we were okay. Many of the churches have been under a drugged situation for years. We all have been meeting in our localities week after week and year after year with hardly any increase. We need to be warned to wake up. We have been wrong. Any branch that does not bear fruit will be cut off (John 15:2, 6). Is this not serious?
We have talked much concerning abiding in John 15. But have we entered into the reality of abiding in John 15, and do we realize the seriousness of not bearing fruit? To take a branch away from a tree is serious. After being taken away, the branch loses everything of the tree. You may still be meeting in the name of Christ and have no realization that you have been taken away already. In this fellowship I do not care for the expounding or interpreting of the Lord’s word in John 15. Rather, I hope that you would be impressed with the seriousness of not bearing fruit. Any branch that bears nofruit will be taken away. You may have been taken away unconsciously already under your drugged situation. You may say that you enjoy Christ, but where is the enjoyment if you have not borne fruit and have been cut off from the vine tree? How could you enjoy the vine tree? This is solemn.
Saints, wake up! As a brother among you, I am shouting, sounding, and even crying to you—you have to wake up! If the Lord is real and the Bible is a true book, it is solemn and serious to be a Christian without bearing fruit. You may have been cut off, taken away, already. This is why you may not have had any enjoyment of Christ for years. You got cut off from Him. We may have been in the Lord’s recovery for many years, but what have we been doing? We may have been carrying out things in a drugged way, and we may even be drugging others.
[CWWL, 1987, Vol.1, Being Desperate and Living Uniquely for the Gospel]

*Please pray for the vitalization of all the saints and the carrying out of the God-ordained way to bear fruits for the increase and spread of Christ.
*Pray that the Lord would bless the contacting of people through gospel preaching and the distribution of Bibles with ministry books, resulting in the bearing of much remaining fruit.
*Pray that the Lord would bring many young working saints and couples for the raising up of the next generation.

6. For the Gospel work at El Camino College:
Please continue to pray that the Lord would bless the gospel work there to gain students as remaining fruits to be brought into the church life for His eternal purpose.

7. For the saints in Torrance who are ill for the sake of His divine interests (Christ, the kingdom of God, and the house of God):
*Brother J.M. returned home from the nursing home after completing rehabilitation last weekend.
*Brother J.Y. is currently in a nursing home in Buena Park.

Please pray that the Lord, the true Physician, would care for the sick saints and grant them healing through His all-sufficient grace, that they may experience and enjoy more of Christ throughout every medical procedure for His divine interests.

8. For young people and children to be preserved from the present evil age and gained by the Lord for His purpose.

9. For the Lord’s Move to Asia & Africa:
Cambodia:
Pray for the conflict along the Thailand–Cambodia border. At present, 38 saints’ homes in northern Cambodia have fled to safer areas. Pray for the safety of the saints on both sides of the border who have been affected, and that the Lord would shepherd them and supply all their needs.

Laos:
Pray for the national brothers’ and serving ones’ training in January, that more saints would be perfected for the advance of the Lord’s move.

Nepal:
Pray that the Lord would strengthen the saints’ burden for gospel preaching, and that they would coordinate with their companions to preach the gospel during the fixed weekly gospel preaching time and in the small groups.

Sri Lanka:
Pray for the Sinhala Recovery Version New Testament proofreading from January 5 to February 7, that all the coordinating saints would be strengthened into the inner man.

* Pray that the Lord may have a way in the following countries/region without the Lord’s testimony: Afghanistan, Iraq, Maldives, North Korea, Palestine, Syria, Turkmenistan and Yemen.
